Travel Insurance.
Taking out travel insurance can help cover emergencies whilst you are way. It
can be very inexpensive and is worth while having. Covering everything from lost
documents, money and travel delays, and also legal cover if you get into any
trouble.
Many travel insurance policies include Medical Cover. Please check in advance as
policies can vary greatly.
You will need private health insurance if visiting a non EEA country (see
list below).
DO ensure that your travel insurance doesn't consider motorcycling as a
dangerous pursuit. Check the details and make sure that you are covered
for recreational motorcycling.

EIHC
An EIHC is a European International Health Card. And may be used in any EEA
Country and Switzerland. It replaces the old E111. Private travel insurance may
be a better option as it does only cover basic treatment, and for a few
pounds it can often be worth having some peace of mind.
An EIHC is valid in the following countries.
Austria Belgium Cyprus (but not Northern Cyprus) Czech Republic Denmark Estonia Finland France Germany Greece Hungary Iceland Ireland Italy |
Latvia Liechtenstein Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands Norway Poland Portugal Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland
|
It covers you for free or reduced medical treatment whilst you are a tourist
in any of the above countries.
You can apply online at http://www.dh.gov.uk/
Travelling to other countries, you will need private health insurance.
