Passports

Totally obvious, but don't forget your passport.

Check the expiry date on your passport before you start planning. Be sure it is still valid for your inward journey.

Some countries will not give you entry if your passport has less than 6 months on it. The rules vary by country. So, if your passport is in its last year or is nearly full, please check the rules of the country that you plan to visit before travelling.

Europe

You must carry a full 10 year passport in EU countries. (or 5 year child passport if you are taking a child pillion - please note in some countries there are age limits on the pillion passenger.)

Many countries do not check passports at border patrols, however you will be expected to produce it as a valid form of ID.

Your passport WILL be checked at immigration when you return to the UK.

Renewing

If your passport is in its final year of validity, you are advised to check the requirements of your destination before you travel. You can renew your passport up to 9 months in advance of it's expiry.
