Accidents
It is compulsory for the police to be called in the event of an accident.
Accommodation
Motorcycle Friendly Accommodation in Turkey
Age limit
UK licence holders over 18 years.
Crash Helmets
Compulsory for both driver and passenger.
Drink & Drugs
Alcohol - 0.05 limit. Severe Penalties.
Driving Licence
UK driving licence valid for 90
days. If you do not have a photo card licence, you must have an IDP and
carry it WITH your driving licence.
Fines
On the spot fines.
Vehicles parked against regulations may be impounded.
Fuel
Leaded and Unleaded petrol available.
Horn
Use of the horn is
prohibited in towns from 10pm until sunrise.
Lights
Dipped lights should be used in poor day time visibility
and after sunset in built up areas.
Motorcycle Insurance
3rd party compulsory. Green Card recognised. Insurance
can be obtained at the border.
Speed Limits
Unless otherwise signposted. In built up areas 31mph
(50km/h), other areas 55mph (90k/h). Outside built up areas, Motorcycles
have limit of 43mph (70km/h) and on motorways, motorcycles are limited to
49mph (70km/h). Minimum speed on motorways is 24mph (40km/h).
