has been operating since 2001, initially covering a small section of the
United Kingdom.
Over the
past ten years, by demand of both motorcyclists around the world seeking to
find suitable accommodation and advertisers wanting to reach the motorcycle
community, we ventured out into Europe, North America and Oceania.
Bike Stay
is now a worldwide directory of accommodation providers able to cater for
the motorcycling community.
Our user
base is worldwide, and the majority of our users are seeking to travel
within their own countries.
We also cater for a large proportion of
motorcyclists that tour long distances, some ship their motorcycles to new
countries, others prefer to hire.

We accept
registrations from suitable; hotels, guest
houses, bed and breakfast, gites, pensions, hostels, self catering, holiday
parks and camping sites/tourist parks/resorts.
Accommodation may be suitable for individuals,
couples or groups, for one night, weekends and for longer stays in holiday
homes to use as a touring base.
Riders will be looking for the following facilities;
• Private or secure parking
Private parking should be away from any main roads, preferably on
hardstanding/concrete or paved areas.
Optional - Being able to supply clean
tarpaulins or motorcycle covers if bikes are not parked undercover (regional
weather to be considered).
Optional - Being able to offer garaged
motorcycle parking.
Optional - Being able to offer uncover
motorcycle parking, such as under a verandah or car port.
Optional - Being able to offer security
parking facilities such as CCTV or security gates.
• Drying facilities for wet weather gear.
Most motorcycle clothing can not be
tumble-dried. Space for hanging these garments, even at a last resort in a
shower area to be hung up to dry. Communal bathrooms would not be suitable.
• Laundry facilities (important due to the lack of luggage space).
This may be offered with a surcharge.
• Provision of toiletries, towels and linen (again, important due
to the lack of luggage space).
In Self catering holiday homes, please state
if linen and towels are supplied, and if there is a surcharge payable.
• Optional Bike washing facilities (for cleaning down at the end
of the day).
At the very minimum, a bucket of water and
some suitable motorcycle cleaning detergent. Some people may be happy to use
washing up liquid, but others won't!
• Storage space for panniers (some bikers prefer to remove them
for day trips).
These can be quite bulky.
In addition to the above, it can be helpful to provide
Advertising on Bike Stay is by annual subscription only. We
do not take a percentage of bookings, nor any other type of commission for
standard advertising.
Subscriptions usually run for 12 months, and we would
normally contact you within 30 days of your expiry.
Payments should be made within 21 days of a new listing being
published and no later than 14 days after your expiry date.
