Situated
in the pretty village of St Georges de la Riviere, less than
two kilometres from the beach, Les Mimosas offers the
perfect base for a Cote des Iles holiday.
The cottage is in the centre of a peaceful
traditional French seaside village and is situated on the
road leading to the beach. The property has a lockable
garage for storage of motorcycles, luggage etc.
Accommodation is one-bed room providing king-size bed or two
singles and is at ground level only. There is a good sized
sitting room with TV (English terrestrial channels only)
Video and DVD player. Shower room with separate WC. The
cottage has French doors opening on to the walled
south-facing garden, which is enclosed and gated. Garden loungers are available plus BBQ, table and
chairs for outside dining.
Ideal for lazing in the dunes, trekking on
horse back, or cycling (bicycles may be hired from nearby
town) and walking along the miles of sandy coast, our
cottage is also well placed to explore the Normandy bocage
and visit the chic sailing resorts of Barneville Carteret
and Portbail.
St Georges de la Riviere, is famous for
Les Dunes de St Georges, on a totally unspoilt beach just 20
minutes walk, or 5 minutes drive from our cottage. The beach
has free parking. Nine-hole golf course in neighbouring
village, St Jean de la Rivière, close to sea. The village
has an epicerie for general groceries and adjoining bar with
open log-fire on cooler days.
In the summer season there are usually day
trips available to the Channel Islands - from either
Portbail or Barneville-Carteret. St Malo is around two hours
drive from St Georges; Mont St Michel around one and a half
hour's drive.
