'La Maire' is a newly renovated 200-year-old farmhouse nestling
in over 3 acres of beautiful grounds offering wonderful views with glimpses of
the high peaks of the Pyrenées, which are just a short drive away.
Our 10m x 5m swimming pool lies in a sunny spot with fantastic views of the
surrounding Ariège countryside. Andorra, Carcassonne and the Mediterranean coast
are within a days ride, as are the many stunning Pyreneen passes.
On the outskirts of the hamlet of St Victor Rouzaud, La Maire is situated
adjacent to a small dairy farm, and is surrounded by fields - off the beaten
track yet just 15 minutes drive from the lively town of Pamiers, 25 minutes from
Foix and about an hour from the city of Toulouse. A perfectly positioned base
from which to explore this beautiful, historic and unspoilt corner of France.
There are 3 comfortable guest rooms at La Maire. All have heating for low
season.
The Pyrenees suite on the ground floor has its own entrance and terrace as well
as en suite shower room and small kitchenette, so may also be booked on a
self-catering basis. There is also a double room and a twin room on the first
floor, both with private bathrooms.
The ground floor open-plan living area at La Maire is available for use by
guests at all times.
The sitting room next to the kitchen has a variety of books, maps and board
games and there is also a bar area with tea and coffee making facilities, a
fridge and worktop for picnic preparations.
Delicious home cooked dinners are available on request.
Under cover parking is available for numerous bikes and La Maire is situated in
a secluded, safe spot at the end of a long driveway. Laundry and motorcycle
washing facilities are available.
