Accommodation
Motorcycle Friendly Accommodation in Germany
Age limit
Minimum age for riding a motorcycle on a UK licence is 18 years of age.
Crash Helmets
Compulsory for both driver and passenger. Riders of
trikes and quads capable of exceeding 20km/h MUST wear a crash helmet
unless they use a seat belt.
Drinking
Alcohol - 0.049 limit. Penalties include
fines and bans from riding in Germany in the future. For drivers and
riders under 21 or when a licence has been held for less than 2 years,
there is a nil percent alcohol level..
Driving
Regulations
Use of radar detectors is prohibited.
GPS must have POI deactivated.
It is prohibited to
overtake or pass a school bus that has stopped in a built up areas t o let
people on or off.
Driving Restrictions
Vignettes may be required to enter certain designated urban areas. In
place in many major cities to attempt to reduce emissions. Applicable in
Berlin, Hannover (however; Foreign Vehicles are exempt in Hannover),
Illsfeld, Cologne, Leonberg, Mannheim, Reutlingen, Stuttgart, Munich and a
few others.

Fuel
Leaded petrol unavailable.
Lights
Dipped lights are compulsory day and night for
motorcycles. It is recommended to carry replacement bulbs.
Speed Limits
Unless otherwise signposted. In built up areas 31mph
(50km/h), other areas between 62mph (100km/h) and on dual carriageways and
motorways a recommended maximum of 80mph (130km/h).
