Accommodation

Motorcycle Friendly Accommodation in Italy

Age limit

Motorcycles Over 125cc - 18 years.

Crash Helmets

Compulsory for both driver and passenger. Vehicles can be seized for non-compliance.

Drink & Drugs

Alcohol - 0.051 limit. Penalties include fine, loss of licence and/or imprisonment. Penalties for drugs same.

Fines

On the spot fines are high and 1/4 can be collected on the spot. Illegally parked vehicles can be towed away.

Horn

In built up areas, use of the horn is prohibited except in cases of danger.

Lights

Dipped lights are compulsory day and night for motorcycles.

Motorcycle Insurance

3rd party compulsory.

Motorways

Motorcycles under 150cc are not allowed on the motorways.

Pillions

No pillion riders under the age of 4 years old.
Registration certificate (which you must take), must state that vehicle is suitable for pillion passenger.

Speed Limits

Unless otherwise signposted. In built up areas 31mph (50km/h), other areas 55mph (90k/h). Urban motorways and dual carriageways 80mph (130km/h). Lower speed limits are active in wet weather.

Tolls

Tolls are levied on many roads.
