Ohariu Lodge is a wonderful self-catering
homestay lodge tucked away in rural Ohariu Valley near
Wellington, New Zealand's vibrant capital city. Laze on the
sunny deck with a glass of the complimentary excellent New
Zealand wine that awaits you on arrival. Your private lodge
overlooks a large lawn to a small hillside of trees, with a
pretty stream meandering along its base. And if you crave the
excitement, culture and shopping that Wellington City has to
offer, well… you’re less than 20 minutes away from it all!
Ohariu Valley is a rural area of rolling hill farms and
horse-riding stables 17 kilometres (10 miles) to the
north-west of Wellington, the capital city. The nearest
suburb, Johnsonville – with 24-hour supermarket and a variety
of other stores – is a pleasant five kilometre (three mile)
drive away. Johnsonville is also a transport hub, with rail
and bus options into the city. The lodge is well-placed for
exploring the greater Wellington region, including wineries,
regional parks and wildlife reserves.
