Accommodation
Motorcycle Friendly Accommodation in Spain
Age limit
18 years old for riding Motorcycles over 75cc, ridden on a UK driving
licence.
Crash Helmets
Compulsory for both rider and pillion for all
motorcycles which exceed 125cc. This includes trikes and quads unless you
are wearing a seat belt.
Drinking
Alcohol - 0.05 limit. A lower limit
applies to new drivers (with less than two years experience of 0.03 percent.
Driving Licence
It is recommended, though not compulsory, to obtain an IDP (International
Driving Permit).
Fines
On the spot fines charged. Get a receipt. If you are
illegally parked you may be towed.
Fuel
Leaded petrol is not available.
Glasses (Spectacles)
A driver whom wears spectacles should carry a spare pair with them.
Lights
Use of dipped headlights during the day is compulsory.
Compulsory for visitors to equip their vehicles with replacement bulbs AND
the tools to fit them.
Motorcycle Insurance
3rd party compulsory.
Pillions
Taking a passenger under 18 years old on a moped is prohibited.
Children over 7 years of age may accompany their father or mother as
pillion (or other authorised person). Children MUST wear a crash helmet
that fits.
Speed Limits
Unless otherwise signposted. In built up areas 31mph
(50km/h), other areas between 55mph (90km/h) and on motorways up to 74mph (120k/h).
Some residential areas are 13mph.
