Tantallon House bed and breakfast, in Gilsland Village on
the border of Cumbria and Northumberland, overlooks the
longest unbroken stretch of Hadrian's Wall.
Our spacious Victorian country B&B stands
on a hill overlooking the Irthing Valley, on the edge of the
Northumberland National Park. Our two south-facing twin
rooms are comfortable, light and spacious, with spectacular
views and have Wireless Internet available.
Tantallon House provides a warm welcome to
all bikers. There is a hard standing area for motorbikes
adjacent to the house which is out of sight from the road
and we have a large drying room for wet leathers. We are not
far from the A686 – Penrith to Hexham, Britain’s most scenic
route which is a fantastic drive.
We purchase local produce, where possible,
to support the region’s farmers, as this in turn maintains
the agricultural character of the area and improves our
environment. Local products generally include Cumberland
sausages, bacon, free-range farm eggs, honey and fruit
preserves.
