Carnaburg is one of the original
coloured houses built in the eighteenth century on
Tobermory’s picturesque Main Street, overlooking the
scenic natural harbour, Sound Of Mull and Morven Hills
beyond.
The House is named after ‘Carnaburg’ the
only fortified island of the Treshnish Isles.
Originally built for the fishing
community the house was later purchased by the MacLean
family who opened it as an hotel. The building has been
extended to provide a spacious residents’ lounge, dining
room, nine bedrooms and an intimate, outside patio area
for whiling away a summer’s evening.
A haven of comfort, good food and
welcoming service, we offer a relaxed atmosphere, value
for money and memorable stays to our guests.
Bedrooms
Choose from comfortably furnished double and twin rooms,
en-suite or shared bathroom, at prices to suit your budget
and special break packages offered during low season. All
rooms have televisions and hospitality tray. Most have
lovely views over the bay. Our largest, en-suite room has
a ‘super-king’ sized bed, (converts to a twin) and a
further single bed. This room is perfect for a romantic
break or family holiday.
Restaurant
Dine in our informal restaurant overlooking the harbour or
relax in the lounge with a drink and enjoy the gorgeous
view of Tobermory Bay.
Dishes are prepared to order using fresh
ingredients, locally sourced where possible. See our
‘Sample Menu’ on the website and call us to book your
table.
We stock a range of fine wines and
whisky including Tobermory Malt, and beers from the
island’s brewery.
Functions
We also cater for small corporate and private functions,
and provide a bespoke service for wedding receptions.
Activities
Mull is easily accessible with magnificent scenery, an
abundance of wildlife and interesting places to visit.
Climb Ben Mor, play golf, visit Iona, join a whale
watching or wildlife trip, explore ‘Balamory’, castles,
forests and beautiful sandy beaches.
Parking is available on the street
outside, or public car park across the road.
