Pauline and Michael invite guests to
come and share the wonderful countryside at Plas Bwlch in
our Georgian style farmhouse, situated 1000 feet above sea
level. Our smallholding extends to 15 acres with
breathtaking views of the Upper Wye Valley. We run a flock
of Pedigree Dutch Zwartbles sheep, quite rare in the U.K.
together with Beulah and Devils’ Bridge speckled sheep. We
also keep various chickens, so guests can be assured of
fresh farm eggs with their hearty breakfast in the morning.
We have recently stocked our newly constructed 1/2 acre lake
with Brown Trout.
Our 3*** Welsh Tourist Board B&B
comprises of a double and twin room, both en-suite, along
with a guest lounge.
We have plenty of secure storage
facilities for motorcyclists and off road parking. Guests
may lock their bikes away in either our stable block or
large sheep shed which are situated down our long drive away
from the road which has locked gates at the top. We can also
accommodate trailers if required. Motorcyclists can clean
their bikes or carry out any maintenance if required in our
yard by the stables.
There are many attractions for visitors
to the area, such as Elan Valley, Lyn Clywedog, clay pigeon
shooting, Centre for Alternative Technology, Hafren forest,
Powis Castle, Welsh Crystal factory, Red Kite feeding
stations to name but a few!
In the October issue of Top Gear
Magazine, 2006 favourite drives section, the route going
from Rhayader to Rhayader via Devils Bridge was rated
fourth! They say “…the most varied, breathtaking
surroundings you will find in GB” and “…It’s the perfect
place to escape to on a hot summer’s day…”
