Traditional Country Inn with rooms set in the
peaceful Hampshire countryside, close to the
cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, and
market town of Romsey.
The Star Inn, a late 16th century
coaching inn is right off the beaten track in East
Tytherley, the smallest village in the Test Valley.
There’s plenty to do with fishing, clay pigeon
shooting, golf and sighting seeing.
The pub serves as a meeting place
for local drinkers and a tranquil place to stay for
visitors and diners.
The interior boasts original beams, cosy cubby holes
for books and ornaments, open fires and a dining
room overlooking the village cricket pitch. (There’s
nothing better than a cold pint on a summers evening
watching the cricket.)
Outside is a pretty courtyard
garden with a giant chess set. There’s a public
footpath running right through the car park too
which makes it ideal for ramblers, cyclists and
explorers alike.
Accommodation is in a separate
cottage next to the pub. There are also facilities
for drying, laundry and access to a water tap (and
hose) for cleaning down. Most of all the Star is a
place to spend time, sit by the log fire with a
book, cup of coffee or glass of wine, and relax! We
love books so you’ll find an eclectic collection to
browse through, newspapers on the bar and a pile of
board games just right to wile away those cold
winter evenings.
You can be assured of a warm
welcome, a relaxing stay and when you leave, we hope
you’ll leave refreshed in every way!
