The Inn operates in the historic Sherrill Mount House. Built
in 1856 as a road house, the Inn is found in the Mississippi
River bluff country of eastern Iowa. Listed on the National
Historic Register, it is one of four remaining pre-Civil War
hotels in the State of Iowa. Weary travelers will enjoy the
Inn's comforts and great food, as well as the small town
atmosphere at a location which provides quick access to the
many activities of the Tri-State Region(Mississippi River
National Museum, Gambling Boats, Fishing, Downhill Skiing,
Fairs and Markets, Antique Shopping). The Inn has 5 suites
with both king and queen size beds.
Additional accommodations will be available
for families and groups in the former town firehouse, located
across the street. The “Firehouse” accommodations include
three bedrooms, full bath, full kitchen and living area. Meals
are also provided at the Firehouse on request.
Additional Services/Activities include the
following: The Inn will also provide "family style"meals, with
seating for groups up to 40 for occasions such as birthdays,
anniversaries, wedding receptions and holiday parties. Menu
options will be provided with choice of meats, side dishes and
desserts. Art Seminars and Cooking Classes are also planned as
activities at the inn. Seminars will typically be day long
events with lunch included.
